How do I check whether my tyres are safe?

The legal minimum tread depth in the UK is 1.6mm across the central three quarters of the tyre, right around the circumference. Push a 20p coin into the grooves: if the outer band of the coin is hidden, you’re above the legal limit. It’s only a rough guide though, so book a free tyre safety check with one of our trained technicians if you’re unsure.
